Workforce capacity tool
We have produced a tool that will help commissioners plan the likely numbers of new workers needed to manage demand for psychological treatment in their area. The tool is based on best available evidence, and comes with a detailed guidance note. Read more.
New local services - plan launched
Leading mental health charities and professional bodies in psychological therapy pledged support to the IAPT programme roll-out when Health Secretary Alan Johnson and Care Services Minister Ivan Lewis launched the plan to deliver it. Full story.
Government funding for psychological therapies
On World Mental Health Day, health secretary Alan Johnson announced substantial extra annual funding, rising to £170 million in 2010/11, for a ‘ground-breaking psychological therapies service in England’.
